Recycling Accessibility Application

This application is for Northumberland County Residents who, due to a physical disability, cannot place their recyclables out for roadside collection in recycling boxes or wheeled waste receptacles.

If your application is approved, you will be entitled to place sorted recyclables out for roadside collection in clear or clear-blue plastic bags. Recyclable materials will need to be sorted. Acceptable paper materials will need to be placed into one specific bag, and acceptable container materials will need to be placed into another specific bag. The County will provide you with a set number of bag tags labelled "Recyclable". One of these bag tags will need to be placed on each and every bag of recyclables placed out for collection. If your application is approved, tags can be picked up from the County of Northumberland's Headquarters Building, located at 555 Courthouse Road., Cobourg, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, or if requested, the tags can be mailed directly to your home.
